Strongylocentrotus purpuratus Genome Assembly v5.0
The gene model for fat4 appears to be incomplete, with the upstream locus, LOC115922231, most likely being part of this gene based on several lines of evidence. These lines of evidence include the lack of a signal peptide yielded by SMART (Letunic et al., 2006) and SignalP – 6.0 analyses (Teufel et al., 2022), the presence of only one stop codon and absence of short open reading frames within the 5’-UTR of the mRNA transcript, XM_030980680.1, yielded by the ExPASy Translate tool (Gasteiger et al., 2003), and the adjacency of the coding loci on scaffold, NW_022145596.1.
Patiria miniata Genome Assembly v3.0
The gene model for fat4 appears to be incomplete, with the upstream locus, LOC119727897, most likely being part of this gene based on several lines of evidence. These lines of evidence include the lack of a signal peptide yielded by SMART (Letunic et al., 2006) and SignalP – 6.0 analyses (Teufel et al., 2022), the absence of 5’-UTR within the mRNA transcript, XM_038199976, and the adjacency of the coding loci on scaffold, NW_024037059.1.
