The second (homeodomain-containing) exon of this model is near identical (98% at the aa level) to the second exon of SPU_021309 (Sp-Hox8). SPU_021309 occupies the position and is in the orientation within the Hox cluster described for Hox8 in PMID:16116652, whereas this model is between Sp-Hox9/10 and Sp-Hox11/13a and in the opposite orientation.
